Tuesday 4th July from 4.00pm to dusk

Shoreditch Gardens

136 Kingsland Road, London E2 8EA

The post community networking event of the year in a beautiful secluded garden

This year’s fete promises to be bigger and better than ever before.

With last year’s event so popular we have have moved to a larger venue.

You can expect:

  1. more hospitality with six drinks tents serving cold beer, wine, champagne, Pimms, G+Ts, vodka shots and premium non-alcoholic beer

  2. delicious treats with three street food vans courtesy of Kerb serving premium hot dogs, wood-fired pizza and Greek wraps

  3. more games with a table tennis tournament, a coconut shy with a twist, jenga and a giant inflatable darts board

  4. more photo opportunities in the VW Microbus or on the giant deckchair

  5. to win prizes either on the wheel of fortune or in the raffle including a magnum of Lanson champagne or Nye Timber, a crate of champagne or a hamper… and now a top prize of an HP C640 G1 ChromeBook Enterprise Laptop. One of you has got to win this and take it home. The raffle is at 7.30pm

  6. and with technologists on hand to walk you through the most complex workflow or show you the latest technology including first sight in the UK of the new Sony BVM-HX3110 promising faster pixel response, a wider viewing angle and higher peak luminance as well as being able top see the latest Eizo monitors.

But most of all the Televisual Village Fete is about YOU in great numbers. At the time of writing there are over 500 people registered to come to the gardens from post and VFX houses, post supers and VFX, from the streamers and the very brightest technologists serving the community.

The Great British Summer A shower is still just about possible, but now increasingly unlikely with the rain passing in the morning and early afternoon. Met Weather tells me with some smashing old-school graphics. We have a vast marquee that can hold 250+ people and 11 large sturdy gazebos that combined can shelter everyone of you for five minutes should the need arise.

I’d also like to give a special mention to Guy and the team at AKA Design. Not only is Guy a lovely man who we wish well for his impending nuptials (does anyone write that word anymore?) but I don’t know how I could have pulled this mini-Glastonbury together without his support.

A grand new venue for 2023, set within the grounds of the Museum of the Home, within the 18th-century Grade I-listed former almshouses

Getting to Shoreditch Gardens, 136 Kingsland Road, London E2 8EA

Shoreditch Gardens is next to (part of) the Museum of the Home and the entrance gate is on Kingsland Road. Hoxton overground is 100 yards around the corner, it’s ten-minutes walk from Liverpool Street train and tube station and multiple bus routes stop within a minute’s walk or you can cycle.

Raffle tent & PrizeS

the wheel of fortune

How to show your support

This year we will be holding a raffle to support two charities:

The Connection at St Martin-in-the-Fields and The Disasters Emergency Committee Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal. The Connection at St Martin-in-the-Fields offers a range of specialist services aimed at supporting people through the physical and psychological challenges of sleeping rough, while working with them to move off the streets and towards their futures.

I hope that I don’t need to tell you how urgent humanitarian support is for the people of Ukraine where the cost of war is not only found on the battlefield. The Disaster Emergency Committee has been providing significant support and the need for more support grows ever greater.

The village fete is free to attend and I gently encourage you to click on one of the QR codes on the flyer you’ll be given when you come in or come to the raffle tent. Alternatively, you can donate to either of the charities by clicking on one of logos alongside. We will be allocating one raffle ticket for each £5 donated, so please be sure to leave your name with your donation..

The lucky raffle winners will be announced at 7.30pm within a very short presentation. The winners will be drawn by way of a random number generator.
